Pertama anda harus kritis dalam menyikapi lingkungan sekitar, pengetahuan yang anda dapatkan, serta juga kritis terhadap permasalahan msyarakat. Kenapa begitu karena Ide untuk meneliti sesuatu karena ada permasalahan masyarakat, atau lingkungan yang harus dipecahkan yang terkadang orang biasa menganggap hal tersebut bukan masalah. Kritis terhadap pengetahuan baru yang anda dapatkan juga merupakan hal yang penting karena dengan cara itu lah anda punya rasa ingin tahu terhadap sesuatu yang baru saja anda ketahui.

International Standard Class




            The decree that regulates International Standard School is mentioned in the Education Bill No. 20 year 2003 about National System of Education in article 50 verse 3, “Indonesian government and or state government administers at least one education unit at any grade to be improved as an education unit with international standard.”

Method of Using English as a Medium of Instruction in the International Standard School

In the curriculum of the International Standard School in Indonesia, it is stated that English is used as the medium of instruction in teaching English, mathematics, science and technology, and it is used to communicate outside the class (Depdiknas, 2007). From the statement, it can be concluded that the International Standard Schools in Indonesia apply immersion as the method of using English as the medium of instruction. Burton (2001:125) described the same condition that happened in a private school in Japan. The school used an early partial immersion program-an intensive form of content based foreign language education, with some modifications that aims to develop proficiency in Japanese and English among native Japanese-speaking students. The chief characteristic of immersion education is the integration of academic curriculum content and foreign language instruction.

Bilingualism

Burton (2001:1) defined bilingual education as an education involving two languages as a media of instruction; for instance, in the United States the instruction occurs in the majority language such as English and in a minority language, such as Spanish or Chinese.
    Bilingual education as stated in www.wikipedia.com can be categorized into several types: transitional bilingual education, two-way or dual language bilingual education, and late-exit or developmental bilingual education.
